History

Scandinavian Festival Inc. is a nonprofit organization  

which was incorporated on 28th of September, 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Introduction section from the Bylaws of Scandinavian Festival, Inc.

“The primary purpose of this Corporation is to foster, promote and increase appreciation and understanding of the diversity and richness of the Scandinavian heritage.  The Scandinavian Festival will explore entertaining and imaginative methods to delight and educate all ages about past contributions and current developments, serving as a clearinghouse to present an international perspective to the community, to be realized principally through sponsorship of an annual public event.”

	Scandinavian Festivals were held annually first few years in Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta and then later on in Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven. Nordic Singers is a group of 4 professional opera singers from the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, Denmark. Scandinavian Festival organized a wonderful dinner and a concert evening in June 2012 in Atlanta.
